Golf at Shangri-La Resort

The Legends

Previously played as the back nine to the Old Blue Course, the Legends Nine has been met with rave reviews. From the modifications to the greens complexes to the dual greens on the Mickey Mantle Hole, the north end of the Old Blue Course has been transformed into a modern classic. Superintendent, Justin May and his crew, have spent countless hours and endless sweat providing an environment for premier conditions on what proves to be one of the best tests of golf in the four state region.

Although the original layout is still intact, the addition of fluid movement to the fairways, additional distinctive white sand bunkers, brilliant water features and diverse putting surfaces will present a modern contrast that has made Shangri-La the golf destination of the region. The layout of the Legends Nine provides the perfect complement to the magnificent lake views visible from all points on the golf course. With five sets of tees, the golf course is set up daily to offer all levels of golfers the challenge that suits their game.

The Heritage

The Heritage Nine rounds out the “Old Blue” course. What started out as a much needed facelift, turned into a total reconstruction of the entire facility. Following a total renovation project, the Old Blue Course at Shangri-La is back with dramatic changes and the Heritage Nine is played as the front nine of the Old Blue. Tom Clark’s redux of the Old Blue has transformed it into a modern classic.

The Champions

The Par 36 Championship Nine combines the challenge of water, bunkers, and fairway movement with a series of equally challenging undulating greens. With dramatic water features, spectacular views of the lake, and vast white sand bunkers, the Champions Nine always provides a fun day on the course.

The Battlefield at Shangri-La

Golfers have the opportunity to experience one of the most unique golf courses in America. Unlike most par three courses that offer more of a pitch and putt feel, The Battlefield offers 18 unique full-length par three holes allowing players of all levels to use every iron in their bag if they desire. Standing apart from the Championship Golf facility, the threes are built on 80 Acres of rugged terrain with more than 100 feet of elevation changes throughout the property. As you wind through the natural feel of creeks and falls, exposed rock outcroppings and railroad ties hold the land together. Although the course is built for all players, the challenge you take on is up to you. With five sets of tees, players can choose the more manageable and shorter teeing options with more direct access from tee to green. Of they may choose to push play to the back set of tees, that bring the beautiful and well-placed bunkers, creeks, and dramatic greens complex features into play. From the back tees, the Battlefield presents holes ranging from 110-245yards long.

The stand-alone clubhouse facility offers a short iron warm-up area and a large putting green. The patio overlooks the beautiful landscape where you can relax following play and see several greens complexes throughout the course. Inside the Clubhouse, the Canteen provides fresh tacos, wraps, and salads with a full signature cocktail menu. The Battlefield golf shop offers a historic feel with great souvenirs and clothing options for all your golfing needs.

Stay and Play

Shangri-La’s Championship Golf Course – frequently ranked among the state’s TopFive golf courses – features 27 holes and comprises the Legends, Champions, and Heritage nines.Surrounded by the waters of Grand Lake on three sides, the course challenges golfers of any skill level, with five tee boxes on each hole. The signature hole on the course is Legends Nine, which features two separate greens complexes separated by dramatic and spectacular waterfall; known as”The Mickey Mantle Hole,” it’s named after the New York Yankees legend who hosted his Mickey Mantle Golf Classic charity tournament at Shangri-La from 1991 until his death in 1995. Mickey once shot an albatross on the challenging par five.

The addition of The Battlefield par-3 course in 2023 makes Shangri-La one of the few golf resorts offering 45 holes to members, guests, and the general public. Built in honor of WWII veterans, each hole at the Battlefield is named after an Oklahoma WWII hero. Additional veterans are honored with weekly displays in the Battlefield Clubhouse.

The Summit Restaurant

The Summit Restaurant as Shangri-La offers Grand Lake’s finest dining experience. It is open to members and resort guests three days a week from Thursday-Saturday for dinner service, lunch service in-season, and open to the public on Sundays.

With unbelievable views from the highest point on Monkey Island, it is the perfect setting for a truly memorable meal. Executive Chef John Haven’s award-winning cuisine, unique presentation style, and attentive wait staff have made the Summit Restaurant the most sought-after destination on Grand Lake.

Doc’s Bar & Grill

Doc’s Bar & Grill is a casual dining restaurant inside Shangri-La Hotel with views of Grand Lake and our resort swimming pool. We offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.

The Anchor Galley and Sports Bar

The Anchor Galley is located inside the Anchor across from the Hotel.The menu offers Hot Dogs, Salads, Flatbreads, and Fun Foods.

The Anchor Sports Bar is the best for watching sports on the big screen, offering signature cocktails and various regional beer choices. Outdoor seating with a firepit and big screen TV is available.

Eddy’s Lakeside Bar

Our casual cuisine and unique lakeside venue make Eddy’s Lakeside Bar a popular destination in the GrandLake area. Enjoy your favorite drink and a cheeseburger as you relax by the water. Courtesy slips are available on a first- come, first-serve basis, and you can enjoy live music on Saturday nights during the summer season.

The Buffalo Bar

Whether you have just finished a round of golf or want to catch a gorgeous sunset before dinner, the Buffalo Bar isa top choice for golfers, sports fans, and hotel guests who want to relax in an atmosphere of casual elegance. Located next to the Summit Restaurant, we have table seating or bar seating inside and outside on the adjacent balcony with two flat screens. We offer a bar menu with various cocktails and an extensive wine selection.

The MonkeyGrind

The Monkey Grind is the Shangri-La coffee shop located in the Pensacola Lounge. We are a purveyor of Starbucks® Coffee, bringing you all your favorites and maybe some you’ve never tried. We encourage everyone on Monkey Island to experience The Monkey Grind.

The Anchor & Racquet Club at Shangri-La Resort

Racquet Club

Our premiere Racquet Club Facility provides outdoor tennis and pickleball courts. Numerous viewing areas allow friends and family to spectate while enjoying a spectacular view of Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees. Do not worry about bringing your equipment! Anchor Staff members will ensure you have the right equipment to either dink around or get involved in one of our serious mixers.

The Galley

The Anchor Galley offers a variety of options ranging from gourmet hot dogs, customizable flatbread pizzas, salads, wraps, finger foods such as Onion Rings, Mac and Cheese Bites, or a popular favorite, the grilled cheeseburger.

Arcade

The Anchor Arcade features a variety of Traditional and Virtual Reality games. Everything in the arcade operates off a unique AnchorGame Card. You pick the dollar amount and based on your decision between $5, $10, $20, $50, or $100, you’ll get an additional percentage bonus added at purchase!

The majority of our games operate off $1-2 per play and Virtual Reality is $5-6 per play. You can choose a classic such as skeeball or Space Invaders battle, virtually fight zombies and even race a Ferrari on our CXC Racing Simulator!

Any tickets of points you win will automatically load onto your card to be redeemed for prizes at the redemption counter at the entrance to the arcade!

Simulator Bays

We have two simulator bays available for use for either golfing or shooting. Our golf simulators run using state of the art TrackMan Professional Simulators, offering a variety of games and courses to choose from. Shangri-La also digitized their courses so on those rainy days you can still golf with us! We also have a variety of hunting games or enemy targets, FOR AGES 16 & OLDER ONLY.
