Cle Elum, Washington
80 miles from Seattle, Suncadia Resort’s reputation as the ultimate mountain escape on the sunny side of the Cascades is well established. Its gated neighborhood, Tumble Creek, is even more beloved by those fortunate enough to call it home. This close-knit, social community of friends appreciate this getaway for being as inclusive as it is exclusive. Today, a new chapter begins for Tumble Creek at Suncadia, with the addition of beautiful new amenities to be enjoyed each and every day, and a rare release of spectacular homesites.
Those that know the sport recognize Tom Doak as one of the finest living golf course architects in the world. Golf Digest ranked three of his courses (Pacific Dunes at Bandon Dunes, Cape Kidnappers, and Barnbougle) among the top 50 in the world, and named his creation at Tumble Creek one of the top private courses in America.
With Tumble Creek, Tom Doak has captured the spirit of its rolling hills that flow through pine forests, along river bluffs, and across expansive meadows ringed by soaring peaks. Known as a minimalist designer, Doak “found” the course in the land and moved as little earth as possible creating this extraordinary course. The design is beautiful and elegant, yet subtle in its approach, using the native landforms as opposed to artificially sculpted shapes and gradually transitioning turf from the manicured fairway to the natural environment of the surrounding woods.
As a Tumble Creek member you’ll enjoy your own private Tom Doak masterpiece, but also two courses at Suncadia: Prospector and Rope Rider. Each experience is unique, with different terrain and view planes that make for an always invigorating golf experience.
From the moment you walk through the door, whether you’re passing through or settling in, you belong. In every chair that becomes an invitation. At every table for four that becomes 14, with every strike you roll, canvas you fill with color, and sunset you enjoy. It’s a whole new way to love Tumble Creek.
Our new Great House is designed to be a collection of curated experiences for the whole family that fill every hour with possibility — a thousand thoughtful details that seem to have been chosen just for you. A place for kids to find their own fun, painting outside the lines and going for that second scoop. Eating in by a crackling hearth or outside under a starry sky.
The Hill House is a state of the art fitness, tennis and aquatic center that connects to over 10 miles of paved path and an endless trail system throughout the community. In every way this is the hub of all things sporting and fitness. There is an indoor/outdoor pool heated year-round, family pool, splash pad, fitness, cardio and movement studios. And because the sporting life needs nourishment there’s a seasonal café certain to satisfy.
Nestled between the Tumble Creek community and the 1,200-acre Suncadia Conservancy lies Sasse Mtn. Outpost. The campsite includes comfortable, well-appointed canvas tents on Trex platforms, complete with king size beds and many comforts of home. Connected to several excellent hiking and biking trails overlooking the Cle Elum River, the outpost is the ideal place to launch your Tumble Creek recreational adventure. Families can retreat to the great outdoors with everything pre-arranged by the Tumble Creek Club to ensure a successful evening of campfire stories and s’mores. This private, glamping experience is not exactly roughing it and is exclusively for Tumble Creek Resident members and their guests.
Imagine a crystal clear series of ponds that flow one to the next, reflecting the soaring pines and passing clouds. Some are small and quaint, others beckon a paddle board or fishing lure. This is Paintbrush Lake, inspired by Washington’s sparkling mountain glacial lakes and named for the “Indian Paintbrush”, a stunning red and orange wildflower that peacefully sways on the mountain breeze. Blooming each June the flower celebrates the return of summer and long languid days.
The lake shore is elegantly framed by native, towering Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir, sheltering stunning seasonal mountain wildflower meadows. The wildflowers are abundant for exploration with Indian Paintbrush, Glacier Lily, Lupine, Flax, Yarrow, Oregon Grape, and Blanket Flowers all blooming throughout the season.
Every day at Paintbrush Lake can be as different as it is invigorating. There is beach and dock access to launch paddleboards and kayaks to enjoy the day. Rainbow trout stocked for a readily cast, perfect for our family’s young members learning how to reel in their first catch. A quaint path known as “Lupine Trail”, links all owners in the community to lakes and meadows for endless adventure and exploration. Bliss is often found in the morning run, mountain bike ride, the family canine stroll or hike to summit Mt. Baldy trail at 5,800 ft. with views above it all.
Summer season programming and activities include SUP Yoga, Fly Fishing and Bird Identification classes with Troutwater Outfitters guide service. Trade in those trail shoes for snowshoes and Nordic skis as the winter season arrives with fresh tracks or groomed trails where the discoveries are endless. Tumble Creek Club provides your Outdoor Pursuits outfitter to personally guide all the fun with this great community.
When your backyard is as vast and as wild as Tumble Creek’s – and a river runs right through it – there are endless enticing options right outside your door: fly-fishing, canoeing, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking. And there’s plenty more just beyond Suncadia’s 6,400-acre property. Located in the Cascade Mountains in close proximity to ski resorts and lakes, Tumble Creek is the perfect home for explorers and adventurers.
Bordering on the 1,200-acre Kittitas Conservancy Trust preserve, land protected in perpetuity, this landscape is abundant in wildlife with the Cle Elum River coursing throughout. The prominent resident and migratory Roosevelt Elk herds graze the meadows year round. The elk “shed” their antlers each spring in the surrounding forests and meadows, creating opportunities for rarest of finds. Deer and the bird populations here are nearly limitless complemented by the Bald Eagle and Osprey (Seahawk) who keep watchful eye over this majestic habit.
As a member of the Tumble Creek community, you’re part of something bigger – Suncadia. Just a stone’s throw from Tumble Creek’s gates, a rich and enticing array of resort amenities await. From golf courses to tennis courts, parks to pools, trails to downhill tubing tracks, Suncadia has something for everyone, of any age. And for when it’s time to slow down, there are plenty of options to refuel, recharge and reconnect with your loved ones: restaurants, a spa, even a winery. All this lies just across the river, an easy stroll or golf-cart ride away.
A place to put down roots — along footpaths worn by elk on dewy morning hikes. On playful pool days that flow into concerts under the stars. Casting a line, dropping a putt, savoring harvests on shared tables. These moments are cherished by those who call Tumble Creek home — full time, or weekends and holidays. And now you can join them, thanks to the most significant and exciting homesite release in more than a decade.
Members of this gated neighborhood and its club have the best of both worlds: their own exclusive 2,600-acre haven with private Tom Doak golf, trails, parks, and extensive social programming, plus all the amenities available just across the bridge at Suncadia Resort.
