Rio Verde, Arizona
Located in the lush Sonoran Desert of Arizona, Verde River Golf & Social Club – the centerpiece of the Trilogy® at Verde River™ community – sits adjacent to Tonto National Forest with sweeping views of the Mazatzal Mountains and the iconic Four Peaks.
Here you will find a newly re-envisioned Tom Lehman-designed golf course, as well as tennis and pickleball courts, a poolside bar and grill, a luxurious resort pool with amazing views all the way to Weaver’s Needle, and The Outfitter, the starting point for outdoor fun at Verde River. Our exceptional Club is now open, comprising more than 30,000 square feet of thoughtfully designed buildings and covered patio space. Here, Members and guests enjoy a variety of fine and casual dining options, the proprietary Afturburn fitness concept, events center, Alvea Spa, and much, much more.
The golf course, Outfitter, Eddy’s Poolside, Needle Rock Kitchen and Tap, and Alvea Spa are all open now and available for use by Member and guests from the public. The remainder of the experiences are reserved for Members only.
Over time, Verde River will transition to a fully private golf club, a process which is already underway. However, for the time being, public play is welcomed, as are non-resident Memberships.
There are numerous membership options, each designed to fit a specific type of Member. All options afford some level of access to the golf course along with diverse programming and social events for the Member, spouse or partner and unmarried children 24 and younger. Verde River Golf & Social Club is a private, non-equity club.
Verde River Golf & Social Club is now available for daily-fee and Member play. Known formerly as “Tegavah,” Verde River Golf & Social Club was reborn in 2015 as the centerpiece of Shea Homes’ new Trilogy® at Verde River™ community.
The original layout was crafted by Ken Kavanaugh, and the course garnered rave reviews from Golf Digest, Golfweek, and others. In 2016, under the direction of Tom Lehman, the course underwent a number of strategic renovations and enhancements, a project that was rekindled in the summer of 2017 to ensure the course remains worthy of its numerous accolades.
The course is now fully reopened, and we warmly welcome daily fee guests, with access provided first to Members.
Spectacular Mazatzal Wilderness views blend beautifully with the contemporary design and welcoming atmosphere of Needle Rock Kitchen & Tap.
At the centerpiece stands a wood-fired oven where our freshly prepared artisan pizzas are crisped to perfection above a natural flame. Our new, chef-inspired menu features seasonal favorites with a regional flare, from hearty salads to grilled prime cuts all perfectly paired with local brews, hand crafted cocktails or your favorite bottle of wine.
Needle Rock Kitchen & Tap welcomes both Members and public guests, serving up great food and good times.
Open to all, Eddy’s serves up a relaxed menu with meals best accompanied by our signature drink, the Cottonwood Cooler.
Members enjoy the perfect combination of coffee bar, sandwich shop, and neighborhood grocer. Read the paper or just grab and go.
The Chef’s Table is a place to share an experience with family & friends. Enjoy the option to create your own menu with the Chef.

Members looking to tap into their competitive side are well provisioned for here at Verde River. The Sports Pavillion features four tennis courts (one stadium), four pickleball courts, bocce ball, and a croquet lawn.
The three areas making up the Art Loft – the studio, art yard, and lawn – provide Members with plenty of room to explore their artistic side. The space includes rustic concrete floors so Members can work without fear of splashing paints or clay, a kiln, and a pottery wheel. Regular classes are hosted in the Art Loft for those looking to learn and share their artistic experiences.
