Jupiter, Florida
The Loxahatchee Club, located just north of Palm Beach in Jupiter, Florida was created out of a love of the game of golf following in the tradition of the finest clubs in North America.
The Signature Jack Nicklaus designed golf course is the centerpiece of our residential community with 285 homes set on 340 acres with over 71 acres of fresh water lakes and 40 acres of greenbelt. The club and community offer an intimate environment of casual elegance, uncompromising quality and unparalleled personal service, which is not only reflected in the golf experience but throughout the Activities Center, dining facilities, and custom services provided by our Homeowners’ Association…the Loxahatchee Experience.
Golf is the primary passion at The Loxahatchee Club. Golfers play with a satisfying combination of exuberance and dedication that is the hallmark of the Membership. The main focus of their devotion is the imaginative Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course of 7,240 yards, often described as a “shot maker’s course,” that golfers of all skill levels find enjoyable and challenging. Each day, members are on the links pursuing ever lower scores, while enjoying the camaraderie and laughs that come from sharing the ups and downs of the game they love.
Although homes surround the golf course, they do not line the fairways. The course is comprised of two nine-hole loops, with tees and greens very close together, made possible as there are no interior homesites.
Loxahatchee prides itself on the superior conditioning of the course, and offers an active tournament schedule for those who enjoy competition.
The Club’s practice facilities allow Members to play shots toward multiple target greens, from either end of the expansive range. In addition, there is an excellent short game area and a temperature controlled, state-of-the-art learning center where a dedicated team of PGA Golf Professionals to coach players of all skill levels.
The Loxahatchee Club was created out of the love of the game of golf and follows in the tradition of the finest clubs in the country. Jack Nicklaus designed the course as a “members’ course,” with flavorings of the olde Scottish game mingled with the finest characteristics of modern American golf.
The course was selected as the best new course by Golf Digest which also rated Loxahatchee in 1989 as one of the top 100 courses in North America.
“It’s one of my most imaginative courses and certainly one of the best I have ever done.” — Jack Nicklaus
The Heart and Soul of The Loxahatchee Club
All truly great private clubs have one thing in common. Strip away the elegant facilities, the magnificent golf course, and the first-rate staff, and it becomes clear what makes a private club stand head and shoulders above all others: it’s Membership.
The Loxahatchee Club is blessed with a world-class Membership that comes from the vision and determination of the Founding Members. Their conception was a Membership where everyone was proud to call each other friends. Current Members embrace that philosophy and understand that the torch has been passed to them, and that it is now their role to perpetuate, protect and grow the Membership.
Proprietary Members are equity members of the Club with full voting rights. A Resident Proprietary Membership is required when purchasing a property within the Loxahatchee Club Community. In addition, a limited number of Non-Resident Proprietary Memberships are available to those that do not own property within the community. The National Membership category was established to address the needs of the future Florida resident who wishes to establish a connection with a Club, and although not ready to purchase a home at this time, may plan to do so in the future. A National Member may not own property within 100 miles of the Club. National Members may enjoy limited golf in season, unlimited golf off season, and unlimited use of the Activities Center, Tennis Courts, as well as Dining and Social privileges throughout the year. Our members have always been deeply committed to, and actively engaged in, philanthropic projects through The Loxahatchee Club. While some endeavors are directed at large, national causes, most are focused on helping improve the lives of our staff and the local community that we share. The generosity and enthusiastic participation seen year in and year out is one of the defining aspects of membership in the Club. Loxahatchee is proud to be an engaged citizen of Palm Beach County – one with compassion for those less fortunate and a determination to do something about the problems that exist. New members are encouraged to get involved to perpetuate this club wide passion and, perhaps bring new ideas to expand the scope of our efforts.
Since the Club’s inception, an affiliation with Jupiter Medical Center has been a integral part of the Club’s history. The proximity of the hospital to Loxahatchee, as well as the vision of the hospitals’ founders with regards to the surrounding community, made the relationship a natural fit. Each year, the Club holds a Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Jupiter Medical Center. Proceeds from these tournaments are placed in an endowment account. The Club recently contributed $1,350,000 from that fund to support a new Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Pediatric Rehab Program.
The pink ribbons associated with breast cancer awareness are regularly seen around the Club. Each January, our members send a large contingent to the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event is West Palm Beach. Additionally, a Play for P.I.N.K golf tournament is held each January with proceeds benefiting the breast cancer research foundation.
The Chuck Smith Golf Classic was created in 2009 to honor the memory of a much-loved Member, Chuck Smith, and to support the cause that was so dear to his heart, Special Olympics Florida. Not only has his granddaughter Gillian benefited greatly from her participation in this organization, but Loxahatchee residents Lindsay Fulop and Bailey Griffith as well. The success of this annual event is the result of the extraordinary diligence, passion and skill of the organizing committee made up of Loxahatchee Members, allowing the tournament to realize its fundraising potential.
The Loxahatchee Club Educational Foundation emanated from the Club’s long-standing Scholarship Foundation. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to provide scholarship grants to employees, children of employees, caddies, and others who have contributed to the betterment of The Loxahatchee Club and Community. The Foundation has been expanded to provide grants to schools, hospitals, and other educational and charitable institutions for the benefit of greater Jupiter. This is the base upon which we continue to build a strong source of financial support for those who are part of our “Loxahatchee family,” and who are pursuing personal advancement through education. Historically, approximately 80 percent of our membership has contributed to the educational foundation, rewarding over 100 scholarship recipients.
