Hole By Hole Tips
Hole 1
An accurate tee shot is required to miss the fairway bunkers on the left and right side, as well as an accurate approach shot in order to hit a well bunkered green.
Hole 2
This dog leg right should not be underestimated. The fairway slopes into the hazard on the right side of the fairway. Golfers who try to cut the corner are either blocked by trees on their second shot or find themselves hunting for their ball in the hazard. Play the ball down the middle of the fairway to leave yourself a good angle to the pin.
Hole 3
Drinks anyone? This is our most popular par 3 for Holes-In-One. Having the correct yardage is a must.
Hole 4
Another dog leg right. Cutting the corner could land yourself in a series of fairway bunkers that stretch down the right side of the hole. A narrow, crowned green demands precision and choosing the correct club is a must.
Hole 5
This is the shortest par 4 for the men and the women. A fairway metal off the tee will leave a mid to short iron approach and a realistic chance at birdie for most golfers. Beware of the back left pin position.
Hole 6
Watch out folks! This hole could be the hardest in Hillsborough County. A hard dog leg left that requires a long drive off the tee. Golfers who play down the center of the fairway will still be left with 200 yards to the middle of the green. Avoid the bunkers 30 yards short of the green.
Hole 7
The correct line off the tee could allow long hitters with a chance to get home in two. Take off too much and you’ll be sure to re-tee. The green is very long and riddled with undulation; three-putts are not uncommon.
Hole 8
A gorgeous par 3. The wind swirls on this hole, and golfers should favor the left side.
Hole 9
A challenging par 4. This hole requires the straightest drive and an accurate 2nd shot to reach this green.
Hole 10
Hole 10 begins a stretch of difficult holes. This lengthy par five demands three accurate shots in order to hit the green in regulation. Out-of-bounds and lateral water hazard stretches all the way down the fairway from tee to green.
Hole 11
This dog leg right is challenging for all skill levels. Stay clear of the water that runs all the way down the right side of the fairway. A tee shot of at least 220 yards will allow a clear shot to the green. Golfers who hit it short of that will be blocked by trees.
Hole 12
This straightaway par four has bunkers down the left side of the fairway and a cluster of bunkers short of the green. Being able to hit a high lofted shot into this green is a huge advantage, as the green is small and shallow.
Hole 13
This is the longest par 3 on the course. Forget the pin, just hit the center of the green, two-putt and head to the next tee.
Hole 14
A long and challenging golf hole. This fairway has a large landing area and is a must to hit. Hitting from the short grass is important when making your approach shot. Water left and bunkers short of the green also come into play
Hole 15
Hole 15 is the shortest par 3 on the course. The small, elevated green is surrounded by water on both sides. A shot to the middle of the green provides the best chance for a birdie.
Hole 16
A long drive off the tee sets up an opportunity at hitting this par 5 in two. Favor the right side of the fairway to allow the best angle into the green. A precise second shot is required as the green is protected by trees on the left and out-of-bounds to the right. This hole bottle necks as you get closer to the green. Players laying up should not get too greedy.
Hole 17
The final and most challenging par 3 on the course from every set of tees. The only place to miss the green is to the right, as water short of the green wraps around the left side all the way to the back of the green. Birdies are rare on Cheval’s signature hole.
Hole 18
This hole is the definition of risk/reward. Keep your tee shot short of the water off the tee, and then decide your play. Go for the green in two, which is a forced carry over water, or play it safe down the left side of the hole and rely on your short irons for a good score.

Summer Camp at Cheval
The Club at Cheval is “the place to be” for summer camp! We have full and partial day camp options for ages 3-14. We have camps to fit everyone’s interests: aquatics, tennis, golf, soccer, flag football, princess power, crafting, cooking, gaming, legos and so much more!
Play Center
The Play Center located on the second floor of the Athletic Club is staffed by fun and caring counselors who can watch your children—even babies as young as 6 weeks old while you workout or play tennis. With different activities planned each day including dance parties, arts & crafts, game days, playground trips and more, your children will have loads of fun while you get a much-deserved recharge!
