Terravita was one of the 10 regional qualifying venues for the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open and one of the 25 qualifying venues for the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open. Terravita Country Club is the heart of social gatherings. The view from the clubhouse sweeps over the golf course and giant saguaro cactus and extends to nearby mountains with fiery sunsets spanning the horizon. Indoors, 34,000 square feet of contemporary amenities keep members in perpetual motion with a long list of special occasions and casual encounters. The Fitness Center, Swimming Complex, and Tennis Center at Terravita Golf & Country Club will do just that while helping you have a little fun along the way.
Terravita’s Fitness Center was designed with all members in mind. The variety of cutting-edge equipment keeps routines fresh. Personal training, as well as strength and endurance classes, are offered to provide direction and motivation. Ample square footage, with complimentary Wi-Fi gives members plenty of personal space, even during peak hours.
The Swim Complex is a great place to take a post-round plunge or work out the kinks in the spa after a spirited tennis match. The two-mile nature trail weaves its way Terravita’s trail hiking system in the Sonoran Desertthrough lush Natural Area Open Spaces (NAOS) with the Sonoran Desert’s unique flora and fauna on full display. Illustrated markers help to identify the rich diversity, and thanks to Terravita’s Desert Appreciation Group and the Desert Awareness Committee of the Desert Foothills Land Trust, residents have a delightful place to learn and appreciate the unique setting that surrounds them.
Terravita’s non-human inhabitants also call this special place home. On a typical stroll, rabbits can be seen darting about, hawks gliding on warm updrafts, and quail families scurrying along with their little ones feverishly following behind. Ground squirrels, falcons, roadrunners, cardinals, and more also add to the sights and sounds of Terravita’s vibrant slice of Sonoran Desert.
