Our goal is to accommodate you, not the other way around. Casual or formal, it’s up to you. That’s why we offer so many amenities, activities, services, and residential styles. Membership is an exclusive right to Pelican Sound Homeowners. Membership is a family membership and dependent upon ownership of a residence in Pelican Sound.
Golf at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Our Audubon certified, 27-hole championship private golf course was thoughtfully created to preserve the integrity of the many areas of wetlands and woodlands. Fewer than 600 clubs in the world have this Audubon designation. The result is an ecologically sound environment with phenomenal play. Each course has a set of nine tees ranging from 3900 yards to 6900 yards that offer every level of player an equal opportunity to enjoy their long and short game. Learning or improving your game is easy at Pelican Sound, with large practice facilities featuring putting and chipping areas, as well as an aqua driving range. Our talented staff of PGA professionals offer a variety of teaching clinics and provide personalized lessons on all facets of the game. We offer golf clinics, and private lessons throughout the year. You’ll find new partners and friends in organized events like Friday Men’s Day, Tuesday Ladies’ Day, Sunday Couples’ Events or Thursday Twilight Golf. There are dozens of informal groups golfing every day.

Dining at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club

The River Club
Opened in March 2024, The River Club promises to be a remarkable dining destination that transports guests far from the everyday hustle and bustle. With its stunning décor, designed to reflect the natural beauty of the surrounding Estero River, diners will be enveloped in a serene and picturesque ambiance.
As you savor exquisite dishes meticulously crafted by our talented chefs, you’ll enjoy a culinary experience that celebrates both local flavors and innovative techniques. Each meal is an invitation to bask in the tranquility of the river while indulging in an array of delectable offerings that cater to all palates.

The Vista at The Golf Club
Upon entering our new dining room, the essence of its name, “The Vista,” becomes instantly evident. Dominated by an expansive wall of folding glass doors and high ceilings, the space offers breathtaking views of the preserve and the Lakes course. An abundance of natural light floods in, and the doors can be opened to seamlessly blend the indoors with the outdoors. Elegantly comfortable furniture and sophisticated finishes adorn the dining area, making it a perfect venue for the diverse functions and special events we’ve planned.
Pelican Pub
For lunch, the Pelican Pub reimagines traditional golf club favorites, giving a sophisticated twist to classic dishes. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a round of golf, offering both indoor dining and the chance to dine alfresco on the exterior patio. A unique feature is the exterior bar seating, made possible by a folding glass panel window system—a design perfectly suited for enjoying south Florida’s beautiful seasonal weather. With 12 beers on tap, expertly crafted cocktails, and a curated selection of wines, the bar promises to be a lively hub.
Come evening, the dinner concept at the Pelican Pub offers an array of dining and social experiences. Guests can choose from bar seating, high-top cocktail tables, or cozy banquette-style booths. Pavilion

Welcome to our Fitness and Wellness Complex, a premier destination featuring cutting-edge Cybex and Octane cardio and strength equipment, all set within a meticulously designed and spacious environment. Our facility is open seven days a week, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., accommodating any busy schedule.
Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or you’re an experienced enthusiast, we cater to all levels. Explore a diverse selection of classes, including Yoga, Pilates, Senior Fit, Healthy Back, Spin, Aqua, and much more. If you’re new to our facility, we invite you to join our complimentary weekly Fitness Orientations to help you become familiar with our equipment.
Additionally, our dedicated team of personal trainers is here to support you. Each trainer conducts a comprehensive evaluation of your medical history and fitness background, enabling them to create a personalized workout regimen tailored to your unique goals and aspirations.

The Racquet Sports at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Tennis
Tennis enthusiasts of all skill levels enjoy camaraderie and competitive play on eight lighted hydro-grid Har-Tru courts. To help sharpen those skills, the Racquet Center offers drills, private lessons, ball machine workouts, group classes, clinics, and workshops. Members take part in friendly matches, Round Robins, Social Events, Cardio Tennis and Fund-Raising events. Pelican Sound offers many Club League Teams. Teams play at USTA levels from 2.5 to 4.0. Our world-class Racquet Center offers an oasis for all tennis and pickleball enthusiasts!
Pickleball
Come experience the fastest growing sport in America!
Pickleball combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis in a racquet sport that is fun, challenging, and great exercise. Played with a perforated plastic baseball (like a wiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles, it is easy for beginners to learn, and our Pickleball Committee offers weekly training for newer players. Pickleball can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. We have neighborhood leagues, multiple traveling teams and regular competition on 10 courts.
Boating at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
With our location on the Estero River, offering direct access to Estero Bay and the Gulf, Pelican Sound offers a variety of active and passive boating opportunities.
Shuttle Boat
The Shuttle Boat leaves our River Club dock for leisurely cruises down the scenic Estero River to Lovers Key State Park. Once there, members can enjoy the beach and the Gulf of America. Or you may go just for the ride without disembarking; a relaxing two-hour round trip which often includes dolphin watching. There is no charge for the trip–it’s part of your amenity package at Pelican Sound.
Boat Ramp & Launch Area
Imagine superb game fishing and extraordinary shelling right in your own backyard. Now every day can be your “gone fishin” day with access to the Gulf of America from the Pelican Sound members only boat ramp. Boat trailers can be parked during the day in the designated areas of the River Club parking lot while you and your family enjoy an outing to Mound Key, Lovers Key or go exploring on one of the many little isles only accessible by boat. A modern fish cleaning station has been installed for the “big ones” you bring back.
Boat/Outdoor Storage
Pelican Sound boat owners have access to the boat yard via a gated entry system, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Boats can be stored; 125 dry boat storage lots are on Pelican Sound property in a fenced boatyard.
Personal Watercraft
The watercraft launching area is located at the River Club. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are available to members and their guests. The Estero River is part of the Great Calusa Blueway paddling trail. As you leave the launch, a turn to the right brings you inland past the Koreshan State Park; a turn to your left leads you out towards the back bay and the Gulf of America. Either way you choose, scenic wildlife abounds.
Bocce at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Experience the joy of Bocce at Pelican Sound! This easy-to-learn, laid-back game is beloved by people of all ages, making it a fantastic way to connect with others. Did you know that Bocce ranks as the third most popular sport worldwide, just behind soccer and golf?
Our state-of-the-art 5-court Bocce complex is truly one of the crown jewels of Southwest Florida. Join over 400 residents participating in organized Bocce activities. From our vibrant neighborhood league and the thrilling annual “March Madness” tournament to our traveling team competing against other local clubs, there’s always excitement in the air!
You’ll often find friends and neighbors enjoying a game before or after dining at the nearby River Club. And it’s not just for the adults; Bocce is a wonderful way for families to bond and create lasting memories together.

Sound Learnings at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Lifelong curiosity and enjoyment derived from gaining new knowledge are important to a fulfilling and healthy lifestyle. Residents of Pelican Sound are fortunate to have easy access to a vibrant program of learning opportunities that explore topics in the arts, business, technology, science, sports, home and hobbies, history, and many other areas. Our lively interactive sessions focus on both ‘how to’ topics and general knowledge about the world, our local community, and current events.
Sound Learnings is an organized volunteer effort by the residents of Pelican Sound to share their interests, expertise, and passions with others. Any Pelican Sound resident can volunteer to present and facilitate discussions on a broad variety of topics and any resident can attend these free presentations. About 35 different topics are part of the Sound Learnings program which are offered every season from November 1st through April 15th.
Sound Learnings draw upon the broad backgrounds and diverse interests of our Pelican Sound residents. The program provides a venue for those who live here to share their knowledge with others, for us all to learn from each other and to meet and socialize with people. It is a great way for those new to Pelican Sound to become integrated into our community.
