Imagine 18 holes of golf nestled within one of the most pristine plantations along the Atlantic coastline. This golf haven located just outside of Hilton Head Island, Oldfield Golf Club, was designed by one of the best golf architects of our time – Greg Norman. Noted for designing courses in concert with their natural environment, Greg Norman created one of his finest golf courses at Oldfield; by crafting an outstanding route through canopies of moss draped live oaks, broad savannahs, and soaring pines up to the banks of the Okatie River. With five sets of tees, the course is as playable as it is beautiful.
Among Oldfield’s most prized accolades for stewardship was an honor bestowed by Audubon International. Thanks to careful design and a continued commitment to preservation, Oldfield’s course was named a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary in recognition of its “environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, chemical reduction and safety, water conservation and water quality management.”
Beyond the greens, golfers can relax and unwind in the comfortable and welcoming atmosphere of the Clubhouse. Featuring casual dining from the Bar & Grill Room, locker rooms and a full-service golf shop, Oldfield Club is the perfect place for Members to relax and enjoy the South Carolina lifestyle. Oldfield Golf Club invites you to enjoy the best golf experience that Bluffton and Hilton Head has to offer. Indulge yourself in the grace and beauty of one of Bluffton’s most esteemed courses and discover your game in the heart of the Lowcountry.

Few clubs or communities in the southeast have embraced a natural landscape and indigenous lifestyle as has Oldfield.
Fewer still have managed to capture a sense of place and tradition with such timeless authenticity and character. While a deep respect for architectural heritage and nature’s treasures are elemental, it is the sporting lifestyle and the river that makes Oldfield wonderfully unique. At first blush, Oldfield’s Outfitter’s Center is an architectural gem. In classic Lowcountry fashion, it blends local materials and aesthetics into a space that captures the imagination and the heart. Dig a bit deeper, however, and you’ll discover a ‘home base’ for one of the finest private outfitter programs in the southeast. Oldfield is blessed to employ some of the finest guides and naturalists around. From the Outfitter’s Center, they coordinate and conduct guided fishing excursions of all forms, from fly fishing for reds on the marsh flats, to catching tarpon and cobia in the Sound, to heading offshore for bluewater trolling and bottom fishing. Should you prefer to enjoy boating on your own, the Outfitter’s Center offers a private storage and launch service for your personal boat – giving Oldfield residents full access and use of our most precious resource, the river. Many owners have discovered the rejuvenating and cardiovascular attributes of kayaking and paddle boarding the river. Miles upon miles of river and marsh await exploration for those inclined to engage this natural wonderland. Whether for pleasure on an evening sunset paddle, or for sport as a programmed exercise event, these activities offer a unique form of fitness in a setting that will inspire you to uncover your best self.
Oldfield’s location on the banks of the sweeping Okatie River and in the heart of the Lowcountry puts nature at the epicenter of life within the community, and it provides for completely unique experiences and discoveries daily.
The diverse environments create an equally diverse array of sea and wildlife in the community. The riverside docks are a favorite hangout for Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins, while the salt marsh is home to vast oyster beds, stingrays and more. The fresh water ponds found throughout the community sustain an eco-system all their own.

Every community needs a gathering spot. Ours is the River Club. Not only is it the community’s centerpiece for dining, relaxing and conversation, it is also our oldest building. And one of historic significance.
Because guests historically arrived at Oldfield by water, the River Club was designed to open toward the Okatie River. This proved to be a very wise decision, for today this renovated plantation home affords panoramic views of the marsh and river and is a favorite place for visiting with friends.
The River Club offers members delicious Lowcountry cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dining al fresco on the upper porch is a delightful way to spend an evening and take in the sunset over the river and marsh. The intimate River Club rooms are the ideal setting for cards, replaying the day’s best shot, conversing with friends or relaxing over drinks.
It also serves as the backdrop for many of our marquis Club events, and is a popular spot for many of our Owners’ children’s wedding celebrations.
Not to be overlooked, the Sports Club at Oldfield offers a remarkable array of activities and programs. Home to a state of the art gym and facilities, featuring Cybex equipment, the Sports Club offers personal training, a wide range of complimentary fitness class options, and nutrition clinics. The exceptional staff at the Sports Club is dedicated to helping you achieve your health and wellness goals, and having a lot of fun along the way! You can always opt to enjoy the Free Form zero entry Lagoon Pool with winding slide, a full sized lap pool, and our kiddie pool for the little ones. Let us serve you lunch poolside or café style and enjoy our fully stocked locker room with steam and sauna and complimentary towel service. At the Oldfield Sports Club you can even rent a bike and tour our leisure trail system along the banks of the Okatie River.
At the forefront of our beautiful community, the Oldfield Equestrian Center embodies yet another unique piece of Oldfield. Upon entering the gate you are greeted by 20 acres of meticulously maintained pastures surrounding Morton’s architecturally delightful red barn. Our facility boasts twelve 12 foot by 12 foot rubber matted stalls with automatic waterers and individual fans. The barn comes equipped with three tack rooms, hot/cold wash racks, washer/dryer, an automatic fly spray system and a fire monitoring system. On-site staff lives above the barn to ensure twenty-four hour oversight of the horses’ welfare. We offer a large arena with Premier GGT footing, maintained daily for optimum performance during your training and exercising sessions. A full jump course is available as well as a sixty foot round pen and miles of scenic trails.
Our state-of-the-art tennis facilities provide a relaxing atmosphere for your family and guests, and yet another way to enjoy the Lowcountry’s amazing year-round climate. Our service-oriented USPTA certified staff offers private and group lessons on a weekly and year-round schedule on our 6 Har-Tru clay courts. We also offer same-day professional racquet stringing available at the on-site pro shop. Throughout the year we host eight ALTA teams (ladies’, mens’ and juniors’) and USTA teams also play in the summer and winter months, providing year-round social and competitive opportunities for members.
Dogs have a funny way of finding the people who need them, filling a space in their hearts that they didn’t even know they had. As quoted by Josh Billings, “they are simply the only thing on earth that will truly love you more than they love themselves”.
At Oldfield, we understand the importance of man’s best friend and have created a safe haven for your dog to burn off some energy and socialize with its 4-legged friends. Our large fenced in play area includes a secure transition zone to unleash before entering, large signature Oldfield Live oak trees to provide shade, plenty of room to run and a doggie pool to take a cool dip after a long day of play.
Open sunrise to sunset, dogs and their owners are sure to enjoy their time spent at the Oldfield Dog Park.
Our food is deeply seeded in our Southern culture, our creative spirit and our distinctly Lowcountry influences.
The Magnolia Grill and River Club provide the perfect pairing of both casual and fine dining, with creative menus, seasonal ingredients and picturesque views.
Oldfield prides itself on outstanding culinary options offered in unique and fun ways. We realize everyone’s palette is not identical, therefore variety is always on the menu.
The Casual Tuesday Buffet is a community favorite and features a weekly theme. The Happy Hour that precedes dinner and the buffet itself make for a fun-filled evening. We often have neighbors dining together or making new acquaintances as they peruse the vast menu options.
Thursday Pub Night features rotating menus such as Burger Night, Seafood Night and International Night. This a la carte menu is the perfect way to kick-off a Trivia or Poker Night.
On Friday we lean towards the fine dining area of the culinary spectrum with our River Club menu focused on delicious steaks and locally-sourced seafood. Most of our owners choose to dine on the porch to take in the sweeping views of the Okatie River.
Here at Oldfield we celebrate exceptional cuisine, and it is a large part of the overall experience here.
