Fort Lauderdale, Florida
It’s a season of new beginnings for our well-rooted club. We at Fort Lauderdale Country Club consistently pride ourselves on our two pristine & challenging 18-hole golf courses, North and South.
On November 29, we inaugurated our fully renovated North Course, which boasts 5 sets of tees from 4700 to 7200 yards.
The time is now to join our membership and reap the rewards of being one of the first members to step foot on Broward’s newest golf course.
Fort Lauderdale Country Club is the oldest private club in Broward County. It boasts 36 holes of championship golf and the largest women’s league in the county.
The club offers an active tournament schedule year-round, including events geared specifically towards couples and women. There are weekly throw-ins for golfers of all skill levels. The golf calendar is complemented by regular social events and themed dinners, so you can enjoy your time at the club both on and off the course.
Leading the charge are Michael O’Brien, General Manager, who was a 2017 inductee into the South Florida PGA Hall of Fame, and Mark VanDyck, Director of Golf, who was the 2017 PGA Professional of the Year.
With premier conditions over 36 holes Fort Lauderdale Country Club members enjoy playing golf surrounded by vistas and nature rather than houses.
On both courses members play within countless species of indigenous trees and colorful beds of flowers, with a few water hazards to navigate around or over.
Fort Lauderdale Country Club is a wonderful club for members to enjoy Florida’s perfect outdoor climate, to play golf, make friends, enjoy casual and formal dining while making memories to last a lifetime.
The club provides a busy golf tournament schedule to suit everyone’s tastes and skill levels. While an excellent player to course ration makes finding time to play a breeze. Their activities for women golfers include numerous golf events during the winter, together with welcoming associations for both beginners and seasoned players for 9 holes or full course play. The women’s program is one of the largest in the area.
Multiple short-game practice areas feature every type of rough you might experience on the courses, multiple bunkers, and a challenging putting green. A double-ended driving range with both grass and the latest all weather surfaces allow member’s options regardless of weather.
Our courses have the very best drainage and allow members to be out playing golf without restrictions before other local courses are considering cart path only play. For example, both courses resumed full play after Hurricane Irma in 2017 within 2 weeks, and one course was available even sooner.
The North course plays at nearly 7000 yards, and the South course is 200 yards shorter playing a little more “links” style. Their website has narrated hole flyovers to truly get a feel for the designs and challenges.
Both courses provide four wide-ranging sets of tees making them very enjoyable for beginners and experts, young and old.
The two courses and membership levels mean members can find times to play very easily. Members quickly learn that they often can “just turn up” and will play.
Full service Pro shop and multiple golf pros offer a wide range of services, including individual and group clinics lessons from all the accredited PGA staff.
The club is a private Equity club and has programs for members to suit different types of needs such as seasonal programs.
When not golfing, members enjoy formal and casual dining choices overlooking the challenging 9th hole with a layup or go for it decision.
Conveniently located between Fort Lauderdale and Plantation, the club is within 6 miles of the beach and draws members from all neighboring areas as well as further afield.
A number of LPGA pros choose Fort Lauderdale Country Club as the practice home with it’s tour-like consistent conditions.
Visually, the Club is truly a unique oasis with fairways lined with stately indigenous trees, well maintained landscaping, breathtaking vistas, and colorful beds of flowers in season, as opposed to many courses where one plays golf between houses. A true golfing experience for all skill levels from novices new to the game, to the LPGA players who choose to practice here.
Play for couples and singles is available almost every day of the week, but with two full courses there is always a tee time to play on your own. This is truly an often-understated benefit!
