Culinary Activities, Tastings and Cooking Classes

Fairmont Mayakoba offers cooking classes where you can prepare some of Chef Sobrino’s dishes or other exclusive recipes. The cooking class can be complemented with a private tasting seminar of mezcal, tequila, or craft beer, where you will learn how to pair these legendary traditional Mexican beverages with antojitos (tapas). Additionally, Fairmont Mayakoba offers tastings of edible insects. The varieties include: dried chapulines, maguey worms, ant eggs, river crabs, and escamoles (a larva of the chicatana ant). These insects are considered a delicacy in Mexico, as they are not farmed but hand-harvested during specific seasons.
