Membership is an exclusive right to Pelican Sound Homeowners. Membership is a family membership and dependent upon ownership of a residence in Pelican Sound.
Golf at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Our Audubon certified, 27-hole championship private golf course was thoughtfully created to preserve the integrity of the many areas of wetlands and woodlands. Fewer than 600 clubs in the world have this Audubon designation. The result is an ecologically sound environment with phenomenal play. Each course has a set of nine tees ranging from 3900 yards to 6900 yards that offer every level of player an equal opportunity to enjoy their long and short game. Learning or improving your game is easy at Pelican Sound, with large practice facilities featuring putting and chipping areas, as well as an aqua driving range. Our talented staff of PGA professionals offer a variety of teaching clinics and provide personalized lessons on all facets of the game. We offer golf clinics, and private lessons throughout the year. You’ll find new partners and friends in organized events like Friday Men’s Day, Tuesday Ladies’ Day, Sunday Couples’ Events or Thursday Twilight Golf. There are dozens of informal groups golfing every day.

Dining at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Dining defines the social ambiance of any great resort-style club, and Pelican Sound is no exception with its spacious and accommodating design. Members enjoy casual and fine dining prepared by our skilled culinary team; friends and neighbors gather to enjoy a sunset, and the professional staff keeps everyone entertained with a schedule of unique activities.
The chefs at Pelican Sound are always inventive, seeking new dishes and presentation to delight their members. Your meal may feature a locally caught fish with farm fresh vegetables. The emphasis on quality and presentation rivals that of any downtown restaurant, but with the convenience and enviable views right in your own backyard.
The Vista at The Golf Club
When you first step into the new dining room space, you will quickly see the meaning behind the name “The Vista.” An entire wall of folding glass doors and high ceilings overlooking the preserve and Lakes course brings in plenty of natural light with the ability to open the doors and create an indoor-outdoor experience. Comfortable and elegant furniture and finishes complete the dining room, which will complement the variety of functions and special events we have in store for this space.
Designed and executed with passion and precision, the dinner menu offers a variety of signature dishes and the option to create your own dish by selecting a flavorful entrée from the land or the sea, choosing from a list of delicious accompaniments, and a house-made sauce. Our team of culinary professionals are committed to providing the best ingredients and the best price in the best community in southwest Florida.
Pelican Pub
This concept for lunch is your traditional golf club fare with an elevated twist on the classic favorites. An ideal place to gather after your round of golf, the Pelican Pub provides both indoor and outdoor dining options under the exterior patio. It also features exterior bar seating by incorporating a folding glass panel window system that will be ideal for our beautiful south Florida weather in the season.
The Bar is the place to be with 12 beers on tap, hand-crafted cocktails, and delicious wines by the glass or bottle.
This concept for dinner provides a variety of dining and social opportunities by offering bar seating, high-top cocktail tables, and banquette-style booths. The dinner menu will be highlighted by shareable appetizers, gourmet sandwiches, and entrees from the land and sea.
Pavilion
This brand-new restaurant concept is an array of fast casual dining, snacking, and drinking options that make The Pavilion the perfect place for lunch, a quick bite to eat before, during or after golf, an afternoon snack, a glass of wine or beer, or an early dinner. The open kitchen brings members close to the chef’s craft, while the outdoor pavilion pairs fresh air and fresh food.
The thoughtfully created lunch menu focuses on farm-fresh salads and healthy bowls, delicious sandwiches, and artisanal flatbreads.
Dinner at The Pavilion will add stone fire pizzas from the beautiful new 8-foot gas pizza oven, and they’ll be perfect for take-out if you feel like staying in or if you’re hosting friends and family.

The Terrace
Imagine a south Florida winter evening sitting fireside and sharing an appetizer and a hand-crafted cocktail or glass of wine with your friends. Sounds fantastic, right? The new outdoor Terrace includes four lounge areas each with a firepit to provide warmth, comfort, and memorable moments.
Fitness at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Our Fitness/Wellness Complex has state-of-the-art Precor, Cybex and Octane cardio and strength equipment in a spacious, well-designed facility open 7 days a week from 5am to 10 pm. Pelican Sound offers a wide variety of classes for every level, like Yoga, Pilates, Forever Fit, Healthy Back, Spin, Total Tone, Aqua and Water Yoga just to name a few. Just getting started? We offer weekly complimentary Fitness Orientations to get you acquainted with the equipment. Our expert personal trainers are ready to help you design your optimal fitness program. You will get an evaluation, which includes your medical and exercise history, and with that, your trainer will design a workout program specifically for your needs and goals.
The Racquet Sports at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Tennis
Tennis enthusiasts of all skill levels enjoy camaraderie and competitive play on eight lighted hydro-grid Har-Tru courts. To help sharpen those skills, the Racquet Center offers drills, private lessons, ball machine workouts, group classes, clinics, and workshops. Members take part in friendly matches, Round Robins, Social Events, Cardio Tennis and Fund-Raising events. Pelican Sound offers many Club League Teams. Teams play at USTA levels from 2.5 to 4.0. Our world-class Racquet Center offers an oasis for all tennis and pickleball enthusiasts!
Pickleball
Come experience the fastest growing sport in America!
Pickleball combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis in a racquet sport that is fun, challenging, and great exercise. Played with a perforated plastic baseball (like a wiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles, it is easy for beginners to learn, and our Pickleball Committee offers weekly training for newer players. Pickleball can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. We have neighborhood leagues, multiple traveling teams and regular competition on 10 courts.
Boating at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
With our location on the Estero River, offering direct access to Estero Bay and the Gulf, Pelican Sound offers a variety of active and passive boating opportunities.
Shuttle Boat
The Shuttle Boat leaves our River Club dock for leisurely cruises down the scenic Estero River to Lovers Key State Park. Once there, members can enjoy the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. Or you may go just for the ride without disembarking; a relaxing two-hour round trip which often includes dolphin watching. There is no charge for the trip–it’s part of your amenity package at Pelican Sound.
Boat Ramp & Launch Area
Imagine superb game fishing and extraordinary shelling right in your own backyard. Now every day can be your “gone fishin” day with access to the Gulf of Mexico from the Pelican Sound members only boat ramp. Boat trailers can be parked during the day in the designated areas of the River Club parking lot while you and your family enjoy an outing to Mound Key, Lovers Key or go exploring on one of the many little isles only accessible by boat. A modern fish cleaning station has been installed for the “big ones” you bring back.
Boat/Outdoor Storage
Pelican Sound boat owners have access to the boat yard via a gated entry system, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Boats can be stored; 125 dry boat storage lots are on Pelican Sound property in a fenced boatyard.
Personal Watercraft
The watercraft launching area is located at the River Club. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are available to members and their guests. The Estero River is part of the Great Calusa Blueway paddling trail. As you leave the launch, a turn to the right brings you inland past the Koreshan State Park; a turn to your left leads you out towards the back bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Either way you choose, scenic wildlife abounds.
Bocce at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Bocce is a great casual sport, enjoyable for all ages, easy to learn and fun to play! Next to soccer and golf, bocce is the third most participated sport in the world. At Pelican Sound, we have a 5-court complex which is the envy of Southwest Florida.
Over 600 residents take part in organized Bocce activities, including a neighborhood league, our annual March Madness tournament and a traveling team which competes with other clubs. You’ll find friends and neighbors playing before or after a meal at the nearby River Club. It’s a great family activity!
Sound Learnings at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club
Lifelong curiosity and enjoyment derived from gaining new knowledge are important to a fulfilling and healthy lifestyle. Residents of Pelican Sound are fortunate to have easy access to a vibrant program of learning opportunities that explore topics in the arts, business, technology, science, sports, home and hobbies, history, and many other areas. Our lively interactive sessions focus on both ‘how to’ topics and general knowledge about the world, our local community, and current events.
Sound Learnings is an organized volunteer effort by the residents of Pelican Sound to share their interests, expertise, and passions with others. Any Pelican Sound resident can volunteer to present and facilitate discussions on a broad variety of topics and any resident can attend these free presentations. About 35 different topics are part of the Sound Learnings program which are offered every season from November 1st through April 15th.
Sound Learnings draw upon the broad backgrounds and diverse interests of our Pelican Sound residents. The program provides a venue for those who live here to share their knowledge with others, for us all to learn from each other and to meet and socialize with people. It is a great way for those new to Pelican Sound to become integrated into our community.
